The D.C. Guaranteed Income Coalition was heavily involved in the FY2023 DC Budget Approval process, providing powerful personal witness testimony at numerous Budget Oversight Hearings and Performance Oversight Hearings.
The Coalition testified in support of five primary asks:
- a $13.5 million fund for Guaranteed Income pilots in 2023-2025
- minimum funding of $500-750 per month for participating families for three years
- 5-10 pilot programs
- a statute exemption to ensure there are no benefits cliffs
- a Hold Harmless Fund of $6.75 million to support families whose net benefits were reduced due to the Guaranteed Income Program.
