DC Guaranteed Income Coalition

Welcome to the DC Guaranteed Income Coalition on the web. The Coalition’s mission encompasses two primary overarching goals: to pass a permanent guaranteed income for all in Washington, D.C., enabling all marginalized individuals and communities to meet their basic needs and live with dignity and joy. In addition, we seek to protect and strengthen the current social safety net through policies that advance economic mobility. Such policies should liberate individuals and families by allowing them to shore up their income without penalty – to lift their earnings and receive guaranteed income payments – while preserving their much-needed public assistance. Ours is a values-driven mission that we pursue through efforts to change the harmful narratives that constrain our moral progress toward a solidarity economy that views and treats all people as deserving.
